Was ist das Problem?
Am 13. November waren 69 Menschen aus dem Küstenort “El Bosque” wegen unmenschlicher Bedingungen und Behandlung gezwungen, eine Notunterkunft in der Kleinstadt Frontera zu verlassen. Sie waren dort vorübergehend untergebracht, nachdem ihre Ortschaft fast vollständig von einer Flutwelle zerstört worden war. Ohne Zugang zu Einkommen und Ressourcen sind sie nicht in der Lage, Miete zu zahlen und riskieren daher ihr Leben, weil sie den extremen Witterungsbedingungen ausgesetzt sind. Die mexikanische Regierung muss die Menschenrechte für die Bewohner*innen von El Bosque gewährleisten, zu denen die Rechte auf Wohnen, angemessene Nahrung, Wasser und Sanitäreinrichtungen sowie auf Arbeit und einen angemessenen Lebensstandard gehören, und unverzüglich für eine Umsiedlung auf partizipativer und gerechter Basis sorgen.

Mexico: Coastal residents again without accommodation
What’s the problem?
On 13 November, 69 people from the coastal town of “El Bosque” were forced to leave an emergency shelter in the small town of Frontera due to inhumane conditions and treatment. They were temporarily housed there after their village was almost completely destroyed by a tidal wave. Without access to income and resources, they are unable to pay rent and are therefore risking their lives because they are exposed to extreme weather conditions. The Mexican government must guarantee human rights for the residents of El Bosque, including the rights to housing, adequate food, water and sanitation, as well as to work and a decent standard of living, and ensure immediate resettlement on a participatory and equitable basis.
